ilmakunnas engblom
Over a century of expertise, in a new visual form
Ilmakunnas Engblom Oy is a Finnish family business that has served the textile industry for over 100 years.

challenge
Bridging history and the future
The rebrand aimed to bring this long heritage and strong expertise into the present day, transforming it into a modern, distinctive, and credible identity that communicates responsibility, quality, and technological progress.
The need for renewal stemmed from the company’s evolution: expanding services, a forward-looking vision, and a growing role as a pioneer in sustainable and innovative textile production across Northern Europe.

solution
Clear, recognizable, and rooted in sustainability
The design direction focused on creating a timeless and technically precise identity that connects the company’s textile roots with its future vision. The logo’s form references woven fabric structures and the initials of the company name, adding a subtle, personal layer. The color palette combines shades of blue-green with light grey and a soft orange accent, reflecting stability, innovation, and environmental awareness. Typography is based on New Science, a typeface that supports a modern yet professional character. The new identity was implemented across digital and printed materials, including the website, business cards, annual calendar, PowerPoint templates, and a comprehensive brand guideline.
